Description

Anyone who's bookmarked an article only to find it deleted, paywalled, or redesigned into oblivion a year later knows the real problem with normal bookmarks: they're just a link, not a copy. FetchMark treats saving something as archiving it — when you save a page, it fetches and stores a real, permanent copy stripped of ads and trackers, so the article is still there and still readable even if the original disappears.

Beyond archiving, it gives you a distraction-free reading view, full-text search across everything you've saved, highlights and notes on individual articles, and Markdown export compatible with tools like Obsidian, Bear, or VS Code so your saved library isn't locked into one app. It's currently in open beta with all planned paid features available for free; after the beta, the free tier will be limited to 5 saved pages, with paid tiers for higher limits not yet announced.

💬 Our review

The short version: solves a real and specific problem — link rot — better than a plain bookmarking tool, and right now (open beta) you get the full unlimited experience for free, which is the best time to try it before limits or pricing kick in.

The permanent-copy-not-just-a-link approach is the meaningful differentiator versus built-in browser bookmarks or simple link-saving apps, and full-text search plus Markdown export means your saved library stays useful and portable rather than trapped in a proprietary format. The obvious caveat: post-beta pricing and the 5-page free tier aren't finalized yet, so early adopters are trusting an unproven roadmap, and if you already use a mature read-it-later tool with a large user base, switching means re-importing your existing library into a newer, smaller product.
