Spinifex is an open-source project that recreates the AWS APIs you already know (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, and more) on hardware you physically own, so your existing AWS CLI commands, SDKs, and Terraform scripts work the same way, just pointed at your own servers instead of Amazon's data centers.

Built by a team including former AWS engineers, Spinifex uses QEMU for compute virtualization and a message-driven, systemd-based architecture to deliver EC2-, EBS-, S3-, VPC-, and IAM-compatible APIs — with ALB/NLB, EKS, ECR, ECS, and RDS on the roadmap. It's released under AGPL-3.0 for free self-hosted use, with a commercial "Neocloud" hosted option and a 72-hour free sandbox for testing.
