Description

Chobble Tickets sells event tickets the way a venue box office used to work before platforms took a cut of every sale: organizers pay one flat fee (£5/month or £50/year) instead of a percentage of every ticket, so a sold-out show doesn't quietly hand a chunk of the revenue to a ticketing platform.

Built by Chobble CIC, a UK community interest company, it's open source (AGPL-3.0) and supports fixed-date, recurring and multi-day events with QR code check-in, role-based team access, deposit/balance payment splitting, promo codes, and CSV reporting, integrating with Stripe, Square and SumUp for payments. Organizers can self-host it for free or use Chobble's managed hosting at the flat rate.

💬 Our review

The short version: for organizers running several events a year, Chobble Tickets' flat fee almost always beats Eventbrite's per-ticket cut, and that's really the whole pitch.

Eventbrite charges a percentage plus a fee on every ticket sold, which scales painfully well for the platform and painfully badly for a popular event — a sold-out £20-ticket show can lose real money to fees. Chobble Tickets' £50/year flat rate means the 51st ticket costs the organizer nothing extra, a straightforward win for anyone running more than a handful of paid events annually. The tradeoffs are scale and brand: Chobble is a small UK-based CIC (31 GitHub stars) without Eventbrite's massive built-in audience/discovery network, so an organizer relying on Eventbrite's marketplace traffic to sell tickets — rather than their own marketing — will lose that distribution advantage by switching.
