Description

Once a team is calling three or four different AI APIs, tracking what's actually being spent means logging into each provider's dashboard separately and adding it up by hand, and it's easy to miss quieter costs like transcription or embeddings that don't show up as prominently as chat completions. Costbase solves this by connecting, read-only, to your AI provider accounts and pulling everything into a single dashboard.

It currently supports OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, OpenRouter and ElevenLabs (with Gemini and Groq listed as coming soon), backfilling up to a year of historical spend automatically on first connection, then syncing hourly. Costs can be labeled per app or project across unlimited API keys, and Costbase reports both its own computed totals and each provider's own reported numbers side by side, with CSV export for finance teams.

💬 Our review

The short version: Costbase is a clean, purpose-built answer to a real and growing problem, not knowing what you're actually spending across multiple AI providers, and its flat-rate pricing is a genuinely good call, but it's a brand-new product from 2026 with only five providers covered so far.

Most cloud cost tools (like generic cloud cost management platforms) either don't track AI-specific spend at all or bolt it on as an afterthought; Costbase's whole reason to exist is being AI-native from day one, and charging a flat monthly fee instead of a percentage of tracked spend is a meaningfully better deal as your AI costs scale up, unlike some cost-monitoring SaaS that effectively tax your growth. The catch is coverage: if your stack leans heavily on Gemini or Groq (both listed as "coming soon"), it won't give you the full picture yet. The 14-day trial with no card required makes it low-risk to check quickly.
