Description

Running several AI agents to handle different jobs — one triaging GitHub issues, another answering support questions on Slack, another managing a Discord community — usually means each agent lives in its own silo with no way to hand off work or communicate with the others. AgentConnect is built to fix that: it lets teams and multiple AI agents collaborate in shared conversations across Slack, Telegram, Discord, Lark, GitHub, and GitLab, with people able to follow along in the same space.

Each agent can have a different role, run on a different AI provider (Claude, OpenAI, Grok, DeepSeek, and others are supported), and use its own set of tools, with agents able to communicate with each other and share knowledge and skills. It supports schedule- and webhook-based triggers for recurring automation, and is fully self-hostable. It's free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license, explicitly positioned as an open-source alternative to Anthropic's Claude Tag.

💬 Our review

The short version: a genuinely interesting infrastructure play if you're already running multiple AI agents across different platforms and tired of them not talking to each other — free, self-hostable, and provider-agnostic are real advantages over a closed, single-vendor alternative.

AgentConnect names Claude Tag directly as the product it's positioning against, and the core differentiator is openness: self-hosted, Apache-licensed, and not locked to one AI provider, versus a closed commercial tool tied to a single vendor. The trade-off of being open source and self-hosted is that you're responsible for running and maintaining the infrastructure yourself, and as a newer project, the surrounding ecosystem (docs, integrations, community support) is smaller than an established commercial product would offer.
