If you've ever built a website in more than one language, you know the headache: every time you update text in English, someone has to remember to update the French, Spanish, and German versions too, often in a completely different tool. Ekit Studio is a content management system built to avoid that specific headache — it stores content once, in a shape that's aware of every language you support, and can use AI to draft translations automatically instead of you copy-pasting into a translator tab.
Ekit Studio is a headless CMS with a unified, language-aware data model, meaning content fields don't need to be duplicated per locale — translations attach to the same record. It ships AI-powered auto-translation (via OpenAI), a Monaco-based editor with Handlebars-style templating, a REST API, live SSR preview, and real-time collaborative editing with OAuth login. It targets teams that currently stitch together a CMS, a translation tool, and a collaboration layer separately, aiming to replace that stack with one product. It's currently in public beta (V0), built on Node.js/Angular/MongoDB by a small team, and its free tier is noticeably tighter than established competitors like Contentful or Strapi.
💬 Our review
The short version: Ekit Studio is a headless CMS aimed specifically at teams managing multilingual content, betting that a unified data model plus built-in AI translation beats bolting a separate translation tool onto Contentful or Strapi.
The multilingual-first data model is a real, specific idea — most headless CMS products treat localization as an add-on, and Ekit Studio treats it as the default shape of a content record. AI auto-translation and live collaborative editing on top of that make it genuinely convenient for small multilingual teams.
The honest tradeoff: it's a public beta from what looks like a very small team, its free tier (1 project, 200 records) is thin next to Contentful's or Strapi's, and it doesn't yet have the plugin/ecosystem depth of the established players. If multilingual content is your actual pain point and you're comfortable with early-stage software, it's worth trying. If you need a battle-tested CMS with a large plugin ecosystem, Contentful, Sanity, or self-hosted Strapi are the safer default.
