Description

Closing the books at the end of each month is one of the most repetitive jobs in finance: matching bank statements against the ledger, tracking accruals, flagging anything unusual, and assembling paperwork for auditors. Verfi automates that whole cycle, plugging into the accounting systems teams already use (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, and others) so the manual spreadsheet reconciliation work mostly disappears.

It's organized into three modules: Verfi Close (accrual automation, bank and account reconciliation, variance analysis, AI-based anomaly detection), Verfi Connect (a document inbox that extracts data from invoices and PDFs and routes it into Close automatically), and Verfi CPA (audit workpaper generation and PBC — "provided by client" — document collection for audit prep). Everything supports custom fiscal calendars and posts directly back to the ERP or exports to Excel, with full audit trails. Pricing is entirely custom — there's no public price list, just an ROI calculator on the site estimating typical savings (one example cited $178,500/year based on staff hours at an $85/hour loaded rate) to make the sales case before you talk to anyone.

💬 Our review

The short version: Verfi is going after the same job as BlackLine and FloQast — automating financial close — for a target audience that skews toward boutique accounting firms and property/real estate/hospitality operators rather than Fortune 500 finance departments.

The three-module structure (Close, Connect, CPA) is genuinely broad, covering reconciliation through audit prep in one system, which is more end-to-end than some point-solution competitors. The catches are the usual ones for this pricing model: you won't know what it costs until you request a quote, and the company's SOC 2 Type 2 audit is still in progress rather than complete, which matters if your firm has strict vendor-security requirements. There's also very little public information about who runs the company or how it's funded. If your firm is already committed to NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xure-style workflows and wants audit-prep tooling bundled in rather than bought separately, it's worth a demo; if SOC 2 completion is a hard requirement today, wait or ask directly before signing anything.
