The short version: if Zapier and Make feel like renting the same toolbox everyone else uses, Rival's pitch is a toolbox where some of the tools were built — and are still maintained — by other users who get paid when you use them.
The marketplace angle is the real differentiator versus Zapier/Make/n8n, which are pure build-your-own-workflow tools with no way to buy someone else's finished automation or sell your own. That said, marketplaces live or die on supply and quality: a young platform launched in 2024 by a company with no public funding disclosure and 12 GitHub repos (none open source) means the catalog of available agents is still an unknown compared to the thousands of pre-built integrations n8n or Zapier have accumulated over a decade.
