Description
Most team chat tools treat AI as an afterthought — a bot you @-mention that responds once and forgets the conversation. Buzz takes a different approach: AI agents get their own accounts, their own keys, and participate in channels, threads and canvases the same way a human teammate would, with a shared, auditable log of everything anyone (human or AI) did.
Buzz is a free, open-source (Apache 2.0, ~10,200 GitHub stars) self-hostable workspace built by Block (formerly Square), written in Rust with a TypeScript/React frontend. It offers channels, direct messages, threads and canvases; search across conversations, code patches and workflow runs; Git event integration via the NIP-34 protocol; media comments pinned to specific frames; YAML-based workflow automation; and both mobile (iOS/Android) and desktop clients, all running on a self-hosted relay architecture.
