Epic est un client IRC qui a su évoluer au fil des années. Avec plus de 20 ans de développement derrière lui, il offre une interface qui, bien que simple, est assez efficace pour les utilisateurs réguliers. Cependant, son manque de notoriété le rend moins attractif par rapport à des concurrents comme mIRC ou HexChat qui sont plus populaires et disposent d'une communauté plus active. En termes de fonctionnalités, Epic propose des options intéressantes, mais on peut vite se rendre compte qu'il manque certaines modernités que l'on trouve chez d'autres clients. De plus, le site ne fournit pas une documentation très claire, ce qui peut rendre la prise en main un peu difficile pour les nouveaux utilisateurs.
