KVIrc est un client IRC portable qui se démarque par sa base sur le toolkit Qt, ce qui lui confère une certaine élégance. C'est gratuit, ce qui est un énorme plus pour ceux qui cherchent un logiciel sans frais. Cependant, il reste peu connu comparé à d'autres clients comme mIRC ou HexChat. En l'utilisant, j'ai trouvé qu'il offre plusieurs fonctionnalités intéressantes, mais l'interface peut sembler un peu datée pour certains utilisateurs. De plus, comme tout client IRC, il est important d'être conscient des risques potentiels liés à la sécurité des données puisqu'on peut y croiser des utilisateurs peu scrupuleux. Certains peuvent aussi trouver la courbe d'apprentissage un peu raide si c'est leur première expérience avec un client IRC.
